Recently, Beeper Mini, an Android app developed by former Pebble Co-Founder Eric Migicovsky, made headlines for its attempt to provide users with access to Apple’s iMessage service for a small monthly fee. This move was similar to the concept introduced by UK-based Nothing. However, shortly after its launch, Beeper Mini faced an unexpected outage, leaving users frustrated and unable to use the app.

To further demonstrate their dedication to security, Beeper Mini expressed its willingness to share its entire source code with mutually agreed upon third parties for evaluation.

He wondered why Apple would block a service that enables their own users to send encrypted messages to Android users, instead of relying on unsecured SMS.
