Instagram revolutionized the way we share and consume content with the introduction of Stories in 2016. This interactive feature allows users to post photos and videos that disappear after 24 hours, providing a sense of ephemeral storytelling. Since its launch, Stories has gained immense popularity and currently boasts a staggering daily user count of 500 million as of 2019.

Now, Instagram (owned by Meta, formerly known as Facebook) is gearing up to introduce yet another exciting feature for its Stories platform. According to renowned developer Alessandro Paluzzi (@alex193a) on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram is working on allowing users to share other users’ Instagram profiles on their Stories. This upcoming feature is expected to function similarly to the existing “Add to Story” option.

Once this feature goes live, users will be able to showcase another user’s profile on their Instagram Story and prompt their followers to visit and follow that particular account. A screenshot shared by Paluzzi reveals that the Stories will include a “View Profile” button, enticing viewers to explore the mentioned profile. This addition is believed to significantly enhance the visibility and follower count of content creators and influencers.

Embracing Continuous Innovation

Instagram has been on a roll with the introduction of various new features. For instance, the platform recently introduced song lyrics display functionality for Reels, providing users with more options to customize their short video content with their favorite tunes. Furthermore, Instagram unveiled new Reels editing tools, allowing users to crop and rotate individual clips, enabling more creative possibilities.

Expanding the Close Friends Feature

In its efforts to enhance user experience, Instagram expanded the Close Friends feature, enabling users to share posts and Reels exclusively with a select group of individuals on their list. This feature ensures privacy and allows users to curate content exclusively for their closest friends, fostering more intimate connections within the platform.

Offering an Ad-Free Experience

Meta, the parent company of Instagram, recently introduced a paid ad-free subscription for Instagram users in the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA), and Switzerland. This subscription offers users the option to enjoy their Instagram browsing experience without interruptions from advertisements, giving them more control over their social media interactions.

Instagram’s upcoming feature, which allows users to share other users’ profiles on their Stories, is poised to revolutionize the platform once again. By enhancing profile visibility and follower count, this feature will provide content creators and influencers with new opportunities to grow and engage their audience. With a continuous commitment to innovation and the introduction of various new features, Instagram remains at the forefront of social media platforms, constantly evolving to meet the ever-changing needs and preferences of its diverse user base.
