Final Fantasy 14’s much-anticipated crossover with Final Fantasy 16 is finally here. This crossover event, teased last year, brings together the popular MMO and the latest entry in the iconic RPG series. Fans can look forward to a range of exciting rewards, including a adorable minion, a unique mount, Clive-inspired armor, and more.
The crossover event was announced by Naoki ‘Yoshi-P’ Yoshida, director of FF14 and producer of FF16, during last year’s Final Fantasy Fan Fest in London. Players can expect a level 50 quest that offers gear inspired by FF16’s protagonist, Clive Rosfield, including his pecs-showcasing armor as part of the Metian glamours set. Additionally, players can look forward to obtaining loyal wolfhound Torgal as a rideable mount and an adorable minion. The event also features a Clive Triple Triad card and orchestration rolls based on FF16’s outstanding soundtrack composed by Masayoshi Soken.
The Path Infernal event draws inspiration from Clive’s connection to the fire deity Ifrit. While the event ties into FF16, players who have not yet experienced the single-player game need not worry about spoilers, as Yoshida mentioned that the crossover event shouldn’t reveal “much” of FF16’s story. Players have until May 8th to complete the quest and obtain the exclusive gear.
To kick off the crossover event, players can embark on the starting quest “A Land on Fire” in Ul’dah’s Steps of Nald. However, players must be at level 50 and have completed the main scenario quest “The Ultimate Weapon” from the base game, A Realm Reborn, in order to participate in the event.
Final Fantasy 14’s collaboration with Final Fantasy 16 offers fans a unique and exciting opportunity to experience content from both beloved games. With a range of enticing rewards and ties to the world of FF16, this crossover event is sure to delight fans of both games. Don’t miss out on this limited-time event and immerse yourself in the fantastical worlds of Final Fantasy!
