In a move to enhance its core products, Salesforce has announced the introduction of new AI tools to bolster Mulesoft’s automation, integration, and API management solutions. The company aims to simplify work for developers and business teams by providing Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) tools and integrating the Einstein assistant across the board.
Since the acquisition of Mulesoft, Salesforce has been dedicated to improving the platform for both IT and business users. The Anypoint integration and API platform have been instrumental in allowing enterprises to connect their systems and data sources with Salesforce’s CRM. On the other hand, automation solutions like Mulesoft RPA and Composer have catered to the needs of business users. The addition of Intelligent Document Processing to the suite further emphasizes Salesforce’s commitment to enhancing Mulesoft’s capabilities.
Intelligent Document Processing leverages pre-trained AI models and pre-configured templates to automate the extraction and structuring of data from documents like PDFs and images. This tool streamlines the document processing lifecycle, enabling users to automate tasks such as budget reconciliation, order fulfillment, and supplier onboarding. The integration of IDP with the Anypoint platform and automation solutions like Flow and RPA further enhances its functionality, allowing for seamless data integration with downstream Salesforce systems.
While Salesforce’s IDP offering faces competition from vendors like Snowflake, the company is confident in the capabilities of its AI tools. The option to involve a human in the loop to monitor the outputs generated by the tool adds an extra layer of assurance for users. Moreover, Salesforce plans to incorporate its Einstein predictive and generative AI assistant into IDP, enhancing its ability to extract relevant insights from documents and assist with tasks like formatting responses and classifying documents.
Beyond IDP, Salesforce is looking to leverage Einstein’s AI capabilities across other solutions from Mulesoft. For Flow users, Einstein will enable admins to create automated workflows using natural language prompts, simplifying tasks like marketing journeys and data cloud-triggered automations. The integration of Einstein with Anypoint Code Builder will empower users to generate new integration flows effortlessly. With these advancements, Salesforce aims to improve work efficiency and accelerate the time to value for its customers.
As Salesforce continues to innovate and enhance its AI tools, the company has laid out a roadmap for the upcoming releases. While IDP is currently being piloted with select customers, it is expected to be generally available by the end of April. The launch of Einstein for Flow is scheduled for June 2024, followed by the general availability of Einstein for IDP in the third quarter of 2024. As for Einstein for Anypoint Code Builder, the tool remains in beta with no specific timeline for its general availability.
