Instagram, Meta’s popular photo and video sharing platform, is rumored to be working on a new way for users to access features before they are officially launched. Currently, users can only access beta features by joining the Android Beta program. However, with the introduction of “early access,” users may have the opportunity to test out new features through a different method. A leaked screenshot by developer Alessandro Paluzzi suggests that this new option may be available in the Settings and activity tab, with “early access to features” appearing as the last option.
In addition to early access to features, Instagram is also reportedly working on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its app. This could potentially allow users to generate themes for chats using AI technology. Currently, Instagram users can customize chat themes with options like gradients and colors, as well as choose from special themes. The leaked screenshot shared by Paluzzi shows a new “Create with AI” option alongside existing chat themes like Pickleball, Snack Party, and Minecraft. A similar feature is said to be in development for WhatsApp, allowing users to select preset themes such as blue, green, grey, red, and purple, which would change the chat’s background color and wallpaper.
Another interesting development on Instagram is the potential introduction of cross-posting to the platform. This feature would enable users to share content from Instagram to Threads, Meta’s microblogging platform that competes directly with X (formerly Twitter). The cross-posting functionality would operate similarly to the existing feature that allows users to share content between Instagram and Facebook.
Overall, these new developments from Instagram show a commitment to providing users with innovative and exclusive features. By introducing early access, AI integration, and cross-posting capabilities, the platform aims to enhance user experience and stay competitive in the ever-evolving social media landscape. Keep an eye out for these upcoming updates as Instagram continues to evolve and expand its offerings to its global user base.
