The latest beta testing patch for Manor Lords brings some exciting new features for players to enjoy. One significant addition is the ability for players to trade between their own regions using Trading Posts, without needing Barter or Pack Stations. This new functionality allows for greater control over the trading system within the game. Additionally, players can now turn off trading with Free Merchants and Tradepoints for each good type, providing a more customizable trading experience.

However, not all changes in the patch are beneficial to players. A new kind of tax, the “Annual Royal Tax” or “King’s Tax”, has been introduced. This tax is collected from the Treasury once per year, goes to the King, and is calculated per resident. According to developer Greg Styczeń, this tax is designed to slightly punish bad workplace optimization and make it more difficult to hoard large amounts of cash.

In addition to the trading and tax changes, the patch also includes visual improvements and gameplay enhancements. Players now have a visual representation for carrying corpses and can preview the game’s 30-day mourning periods to better monitor productivity. Animal behavior has been tweaked to form a more convincing herd, adding to the immersion of the game world.

Developer Styczeń has stated that the patch aims to address significant problems within the game. Some of the areas targeted for improvement include the rate of Hildebolt’s claims, the issue of “None” people spawning in large numbers and refusing to work, clogged Trading Posts, and inefficient marketplace supply. The patch also seeks to improve archer damage, sawpit efficiency, and farming issues like crop erasing in the winter.

To access the new patch for Manor Lords, players must follow a specific set of instructions. This includes opening Steam, right-clicking on Manor Lords in the library, selecting Properties, and entering the password ‘veryNiceBasket’ in the BETAS tab. By choosing ‘pre_release’ from the Beta participation drop-down list, players can update the game files and launch the updated version of Manor Lords.

Overall, the latest beta testing patch for Manor Lords introduces a range of new features and improvements for players to enjoy. While some changes, such as the introduction of the Royal Tax, may pose challenges for players, the overall goal of the patch is to enhance gameplay and address significant issues within the game. By following the necessary steps to unlock the patch, players can experience the latest updates and continue to explore the immersive world of Manor Lords.
