The Microlino Lite, a new offering from Swiss company Micro, was recently unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. This compact electric vehicle is designed to cater to urbanites who are looking for a convenient mode of transportation in densely populated cities with narrow streets. With a top speed of 45km/h (28mph) and a compact design, the Microlino Lite offers a unique solution for urban commuting.

The Microlino Lite shares the same steel unibody design as its big brother, the standard Microlino. It measures 2.5m long, 1.47m wide, and 1.5m high, with a curb weight of under 600kg. With 6kW of power (9kW peak), it is classified as an L6e vehicle, which means that it can be driven by anyone with an AM-class moped license in Europe. The vehicle comes equipped with a 5.5kWh battery, offering a range of about 100km, with an option for a larger 11kWh battery that can extend the range up to 177km.

The Microlino Lite’s 5.5kWh battery can charge from 0 to 80 percent in about two hours from a 2.2kW Type 2 charger, while the 11kWh battery requires about four hours for a full charge. The pricing for the Microlino Lite starts at CHF149 per month for a 48-month lease with a 5,000km/year limit. This pricing is competitive, especially when compared to other modes of urban transportation such as e-bike subscriptions and electric microcar leases.

The Microlino Lite is available in blue or anthracite grey and offers options for a base or upgraded premium interior. The premium interior includes features such as vegan leather seats, a velour seat bench, side pockets, a Bluetooth speaker, and a smartphone holder. The compact two-seater microcar also comes with a sunroof and a spacious 230-liter trunk, making it a versatile option for urban commuters.

Preorders for the Microlino Lite are now being accepted, with delivery scheduled for early summer. While initially targeting European markets, Micro is considering expanding the availability of the Microlino Lite to other regions in the future. The vehicle’s compact design, competitive pricing, and eco-friendly features make it a promising option for urban transportation in a world where sustainable mobility is becoming increasingly important.

Overall, the Microlino Lite represents a shift towards more sustainable and efficient modes of urban transportation. With its compact design, electric powertrain, and convenient features, it offers a compelling solution for urbanites looking to navigate crowded city streets with ease.
