Recent reports suggest that in addition to the file-sharing feature, WhatsApp is also developing a Favourites tab for its users. The Favourites tab aims to provide a convenient way for users to access their preferred contacts or conversations quickly. This new feature was detected in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.9.22 build, although it is not yet accessible to beta testers.
The People Nearby feature, located within the Settings menu, has been updated to provide users with detailed information on the permissions required for its functionality. These permissions include access to photos, media, files, Bluetooth, and location. By granting these permissions, users can discover and connect with nearby users for file-sharing without the need for internet connectivity.
