WhatsApp has been working tirelessly to provide its users with new and exciting features. One of the upcoming additions to the popular messaging app is the support for chat themes. This feature will allow users to customize the look of their chats by changing the colour of the chat bubbles and background. Users will have the option to choose from preset themes or select their own colour palette and wallpaper.
Theme Picker Preview
Recent reports from a feature tracker have given us a glimpse of what the chat themes feature will look like once it is officially launched. According to the feature tracker, WhatsApp will offer users 10 different theme presets to choose from. The theme picker will display two rows of themes, with the top row featuring solid colour backgrounds and the bottom row showcasing themes based on landscape art. Each theme will have chat bubble colours that complement the background.
In addition to chat themes, WhatsApp is also working on a new feature that will enhance user privacy and security. The messaging app is developing a username feature that will allow users to initiate conversations without sharing their phone numbers. Once users set a unique username, they will be prompted to set up a PIN. This PIN will act as a protective barrier, ensuring that only those with the passcode can send messages to the user.
The username PIN feature is a significant step towards giving users greater control over their messaging experience. By requiring a passcode to start new conversations using a username, WhatsApp users can effectively filter out unwanted contacts, spammers, and unnecessary messages. This added layer of security will provide peace of mind to users who value their privacy.
While these new features are still in development, they are expected to be rolled out to beta testers in the near future. Beta testers will have the opportunity to explore and test out the chat themes and username PIN features before they are officially released to all users on the stable channel. WhatsApp’s commitment to constantly improving the user experience is evident in these upcoming updates, which promise to make messaging on the platform more customizable and secure.
